I have 8GB of memory and 2GB of swap. I expect would have been using less than a quarter of the 8GB and none of the swap when the crash was happening. I'll reapply the updates and watch the memory usage, but if it had been swapping to disk I think I would have noticed before being dumped back at

It's very unlikely that desktopcouch is causing this after the update. The only difference in the update you're speaking of, is that an apport source file for desktopcouch was added to the package. Of course, desktopcouch could be crashing for you, and now apport is using up all your memory and swa
