Public bug reported:

gksu gedit /etc/default/timidity

Changes:

SERVER_USER=user
SERVER_GROUP=user

gksu gedit /etc/init.d/timidity

Change (the line is, in fact, wrong):

chown ${SERVER_USER} /var/run/timidity

sudo reboot

and Unity goes crazy. Slow, erratic...

Is not my case (12.04 32 bit frech install and updated), but it can be
related.

I wanted to run the service as user in ordre to start/stop TiMidity++
and use other MIDI sequenzer.
