It sounds like either the MI_WAIT_FOR_EVENT hang or the page-flip verus
modeset race. I cannot tell with an error state, and both should be
fixed in updates.

Today my grub2 decided to die. Who knows why. The solution? Boot from
a live disk. The problem, the live disk faces the same issues displayed

Some additional information per the recommendations of actionparsnip
(andrew-woodhead666) I have tried booting while docked and received the
same result (system locks up completely). Here is the output of sudo
lshw -C display; lsb_release -a; uname -a; xrandr:
*-display
