after many updates bug still exist

Do we have any update on this?
We have many VMs running this OS. We can not upgrade the OS to higher
version since we require this version for testing. Please provide
solution to this issue.

In addition to the above issues, I also noticed the following:
user@machine:~$ sudo ifdown eth0
[sudo] password for user:
ifdown: interface eth0 not configured
user@machine:~$
Then I found that there was no entry in /etc/network/interfaces for
eth0. Adding it resolved the ifup/down issue, but th
Status changed to 'Confirmed' because the bug affects multiple users.
