1. What you expected to happen?
The num lock functionality to stay on once the button is pressed, and the light 
to be illuminated.

2. What actually happened?
It goes off after a variable amount of time, usually around 1 second.

3. If possible, a minimal series of steps necessary to make it happen, where 
step 1 is "start the program"?
Press num lock.  Wait for the light to go out.
