I started gnome-terminal from within console and then ran minicom. It did talk
minicom an awful long time to load and then I saw this information in my
konsole session:
(gnome-terminal:7846): Vte-WARNING **: Can not find appropiate font for
character U+001d.
(gnome-terminal:7846): Vte-WARNING
This does not happen with xterm or konsole.
