For Brother's inkjet printers there are no alternatives. foo2zjs does
not support them.

Brother DCP395CN not printing from Adobe Reader
My printer isn't supported by Turboprint and it's not a laser printer.
Can I also use the foo2zjs driver instead of the Brother driver or are
there other alternatives?

For me this looks like a bug in Brother's proprietary printer driver
package. Your error_log contains
D [08/Jul/2012:11:46:10 +0200] [Job 65] Error: /undefined in UOVRJW
+Palatino-Roman*1
This means that Ghostscript errors out on a missing font.
I tried to reproduce it but not having a Brother p
