brynk - Can you reproduce the issue with the file that David Clayton
attached to the bug report? I am unable to reproduce it on Feisty with
the same version of OpenOffice.org. If you are able to reproduce it
with that file could you add your '/etc/cups/printers.conf' file?

I'm using 2.2.0-1ubuntu3 straight out of the repositories.
Opening old files still causes it to crash, except when I stop the cups daemon.

With which specific version of the openoffice.org package did you notice

Yep, I do a: sudo /etc/init.d/cupsys stop and now OO 2.2 opens files
without a problem, start cupsys again and it crashes OO.

Some more information: I did a fresh install of Ubuntu 6.10 on a new
partition (and prevented any updates from the original CD) and I now
have OO working 100% on that system.
On both the OO/Ubuntu installs that have this conversion problem, if I
go into Tools-Options-Charts-Default Colors I get t
Now my 6.10 Ubuntu system has the same problem - after I allowed it to
download updates this week!
Also, I can create a new Word Processor document and save it in the
native OO format, and that will open fine, but if I save it in Word .DOC
format it crashes on opening.
My setup locale is in Austr

I was just about to report this bug.
Mine crashes on .ODT, .DOC or .XLS files, I rebooted to Edgy and
Openoffice 2.0 opens all of the same files 100% ok.

The documents in question are invoices containing confidential
information, so I'd rather not give them out. I understand that's not
