I believe that this bug may be fixed in Ubuntu 7.10 (Gutsy)
OpenOffice.org 1:2.3.0~rc1-1ubuntu2. I was unable to make it give me an
error when converting using pdf2ps. Can you try with the new version of
OpenOffice.org and see if it works for you now?
