I'm using java8 and netbeans 8 in ubuntu 14.04. It also is triggered by using middle-button scrolling to the side, making the application near-unusable for browsing code on a thinkpad without an external mouse (since 2 finger scroll and trackpoint scroll both trigger a popup menu constantly). --
