On a fresh Quantal system, I gave this a shot and there were two
launcher icons of Unison. It's definitely BAMF failing to match the
process to the correct desktop file.

This seems weird. Seems like unison-gtk is identifying itself as a
separate program with it's own icon and hence is screwing up BAMF's
matching.

I have installed from the normal repo:

Weird, just installed unison-gtk and I don't have this issue. Did you
install this from source, or from the repos?
