Hey, people, I've got ubuntu 8.10 Interpid Ibex on my PC and a Sound Blaster
Live! CT4670. I've selected ALSA Multichannel for my card, but there is a
trouble - Playback is only single-channel! :(
And also when the processor is fully loaded, playback is being fragmented...

The Ubuntu Kernel Team is planning to move to the 2.6.27 kernel for the
upcoming Intrepid Ibex 8.10 release. As a result, the kernel team would

What I do see is that now I can select "ADC Capture/Standard PCM
Playback" and it (somewhat) also works, and I can play multiple streams.

No, it's not fixed for me. I still see the same behaviour with the
released Ubuntu 8.04 version. Without changes to the configuration sound
isn't working at all.

I can confirm this bug on the latest Hardy Heron (alpha 5 + updates as
per 2008-03-01).
Sound playback only works (doesn't work that good) if I select
"multichannel playback".

i have a similar problem with my soundblaster (SBLive Value[CT4780]) and
ubuntu 7.10, when i try the sound (multychannel playback) the pe
comes out, but it doesnt work with anything else, and i have no sound,
this happen in every ubuntu, and dont chance in the last one. I hope
someone can help
Now that the 7.10 Gutsy Gibbon release of Ubuntu is out, we were
