Public bug reported:

On Start Volume is set to maximum with my soundcard from the Cyborg 5.1
Headset from Saitek.

managed to fix that problem with:
set lower volume keyboard kommand in the keyboard shortcut settinigs:

ctrl+alt+a

sudo apt-get install xdotool

put the program as a start program with: gnome-session-properties

command : xdotool key ctrl+alt+a

on start the volume will be set one step deeper, for example the volume
was set on 40% and one step means 5% the volume is through this program
set to 100%-50%-5% equals 45%, after the start :-)
