I had limited success today with iwconfig in the terminal. I used: iwconfig eth1 essid "CatChat" rate 54M mode Managed channel 11 (even though iwlist scan says that the ap is Master) this gave me access for the longest period of time that i've had (15 minutes) and instead of dropping the conn
