It repros for me in KDevelop on Intrepid. (I wasn't using MPI, just a
plain c++ program that I wrote.) I cannot find specific repro steps that
always reproduce it, but if I add watch variables for bad array indexes,
step a few times, delete a watch variable, step again, and repeat for a
while, it c

I'm sorry, I won't be able to reproduce it. I can't even get to build it
(undefined reference to MPI::Init...) and I can't be bothered to fix
that, because it's for a project I don't work on anymore.

I forgot to mention it was an MPI-program that crashed. Just running
locally, not using the MPI commands (except for init etc). For my own
reference: svn revision 88
crash log attached. Output:
