tracked, could you please file a new report with Ubuntu by executing the
following in a terminal while booted into the default Ubuntu kernel (not a
mainline one) via:

I recently "upgraded" to 12.04.4 on my Dell E6500 (on which I had
10.04.4 running quite smoothly for years) and this bug has bitten me and
so far none of the resolutions I've found & tried via various forums has
worked to resolve it. I am quite sad. :(

Charles M. Hannum, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't
been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an
issue? If so, could you please test for this with the latest development
