Title
I was able to drag the launcher in the Displays dialog and since doing
that the problem has vanished. I can now put the launcher on either
monitor by using the drop down box.

You should be able to change which is the primary monitor (and hence the
launcher placement) by dragging the black launcher bar between the
monitors in the Displays dialog. Or if that doesn't work, you can edit
the setting directly in ~/.config/monitors.xml (which then requires you
to log in
could you provide a log of the "xrand" command and give details on the
monitors you use?

Title:
Cannot show launcher on only the secondary monit
Im on 12.04, I can select which monitor but regardless of which one i
choose, the launcher is only placed in the primary one. This has worked
in the past when I had two different monitors, but now that I have two
of the same monitors it has stopped working.

Shouldn't gnome-control-center have the ability to set the primary
monitor? That should fix the problem.
