This bug still ate out Capslock light, F11 F12 keys, as well as
causing pommed to crash on a MacBook Pro 5,1. Removed mouseemu and now
all work fine!

It's odd, this bug is marked as Fix Released but in Jaunty the bug still exists
(mouseemu installed by default on macbook pro)
As an aside, mouseemu also breaks the extra side button functionality in
Microsoft mice

This now works in gutsy. By default, 3 finger tap right clicks and
capslock light functions correctly.

You received this bug notification because
I still need to middle-click as well as right-click. Does the synaptics
driver allow that somehow?

By tapping with 2 or 3 fingers, and it's configurable which action does
what.
In xorg.conf:
Option TapButton2 2
Option TapButton3 3
or change the order, and if you don't like one finger tapping for button
1, you can add:

I can confirm that the caps lock does not work on Gutsy on my MacBook
with mouseemu installed (and does work without it installed). I suggest
we disable this and just use the synaptics driver's advanced trackpad
functions for right-clicks (and maybe xkbmap).

I had a strange problem with mouseemu with similar symptoms. Can you
check if it is installed, (since it isn't needed, because synaptics
provides extra mouse button tapping, scrolling, etc) and try to remove
and see if the issue remains? :)

Since synaptics driver provides (in a way) what mouseemu is supposed to
provide, and by some reason conflicts with the keyboard, couldn't it be
substituted by installing (q)gsynaptics?
What surprised me the most was that my issues on a 2nd gen. MB started
from nothing. It was everything ok, and
This is also happen to me. The Light works on a external keyboard but
dose not show up on the internal one.
