X230 and newer don't support the SMAPI interface anymore, there is

My problem isn't power levels, ACPI takes care of that pretty well. The
embedded controller is just messing up the hard drive protection.
Is anybody else having further issues aside from the HDAPS?

Thinkpad Edge 14 also has this problem.
I did a hardware reset (hold down the power button with the AC and
battery removed), in which I was able to get all modules loading and
running fine. But I rebooted the machine and haven't gotten it working
since then.
Whitelisting my specific ThinkPad mod
Thinkpad L430 is also affected.
