Public bug reported: Now that modesetting is installed by default on the ARM platforms, it's also the default option for the Xorg server in case there's no platform specific driver.
The problem happens that it's not the only one driver used by Xorg, as fbdev is also loaded, causing 2 displays to be up at the same time. The fix for this issue is already available at upstream, which uses the platformProbe hook to properly initially the device in case it's a platform based device (without the tradicional bus like PCI). ** Affects: xserver-xorg-video-modesetting (Ubuntu) Importance: High Assignee: Ricardo Salveti (rsalveti) Status: In Progress ** Changed in: xserver-xorg-video-modesetting (Ubuntu) Status: New => In Progress ** Changed in: xserver-xorg-video-modesetting (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => High ** Changed in: xserver-xorg-video-modesetting (Ubuntu) Assignee: (unassigned) => Ricardo Salveti (rsalveti) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1041727 Title: fbdev is also loaded with modesetting on ARM platforms To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-modesetting/+bug/1041727/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
