It seems to be ok the first time it scans the disks to bring up the list
of partitions to edit. It's just the scan it does after making changes
to the partitions that makes thunar go a bit crazy.
It's a testing laptop that I've got Windows 7 (I suspect this is the
weirdo sda-1) along with its reco

Hmm... your partitions are... interesting especially /dev/sda-1. What
type of system is this?!

Hmm... that's not suppose to happen. We do try to "freeze" the disk
events, but obviously we are doing something odd / not enough on
Xubuntu.
