The section referred to by Jean-Pierre is incorrect.
Windows clearly states that "A file name cannot contain any of the following
characters: \ / : * ? " < > | "
Thus, the claim that "[...] all characters are allowed except ‘/’ and ”. This
is perfectly legal on Windows, [...]" is not true.
