Yesterday i have installed kernel from proposed repository (linux-
image-3.2.0-31-generic) and testing it since. It is stable, no crashes,
freezes. I think the problem was specific to package linux-
image-3.2.0-30-...-generic. Thanks for your time.

No ... i don't see any errors or info on the screen. In both cases
screen freezes. There is no reaction to keyboard or mouse or even power
button. Also system hangs randomly during normal work and always during
shutdown/restart.
About kernel ... I will test it later today and write about the

So far there has been no system failure during work or system
restarts/shutdowns. So problem most likely is specific to kernel linux-
image-3.2.0-30-generic. Hope it helps.

The good news is that this bug will be fixed, once Precise is re-based
to upstream stable, since you confirmed the bug does not occur with that
kernel.

Actually, Precise is a stable release now, so we would have to perform a
bisect to identify which upstream stable release fixes this bug. We
first need to identify the first upstream stable release that does not
have this bug. We can then bisect that version to find the exact
commit.
Precise
One more correction. It seems the fix for this bug might land in
Precise on Monday, September 10th. It would be great if you could
upgrade on Monday and post back if the bug is fixed or not.
Sorry for the confusion.

I'll wait until Monday and test the updated kernel and post back. If the
bug persists, I'll start testing other kernel versions and post the
results. Thanks for the information about the comming update ;).
