Same result in latest mainline kernel. The one I tested was
v3.6-rc5-quantal, package name linux-
image-3.6.0-030600rc5-generic_3.6.0-030600rc5.201209082035_amd64.deb.
I guess I should mention that AC power is plugged in during all this.
