I'm traveling right now and only have my one usb drive with me. If I
can borrow another one I will try to confirm and get back to you,
otherwise won't be able to respond until I get home in another week or
so.
For what it's worth, this same usb storage device previously worked with
no problems.

Does this issue occur with just the device:

Tested mainline kernel 3.6.0-030600rc5generic. Bug still exists in
upstream kernel. Previously mentioned workaround of opening Startup
Disk Creator still works in upstream kernel as well.
