Please check if this if related to bug 1062282. A workaround suggested
there is to install
sudo apt-get install gstreamer1.0-pulseaudio
see if this also fixes the current bug.

I am terribly sorry I can not test it any more right know I am running
ubuntu 13.04 and using gstreamer1.0-pulseaudio but I wan to point out
that cheese does not crashes on this system any more
