Public bug reported:

When launched for the first time, Liferea refuse to open the selected
feeds into your browser and notifies it in the bottom left corner of the
UI. This can be easily fixed by going to the preferences, in the browser
section. The strange things is that even if you don't modify anything in
the browser section, the "open in browser" is back working.

Steps to reproduce the bug:
1) install liferea for the first time
2) update current feeds
3) try opening one by double-click on the its entry, normally nothing happens 
and a message is displayed on the bottom left corner
4) go to Tools -> Preferences
5) navigate to "Browser"
6) exit the Preferences 
7) try opening the feed again, now it should be working

Pretty sure I had the same behaviour on Debian Wheezy as well, so might
be good to report upstream if the bug is confirmed.
