Wait a minute, I may have done that... but you would think a reboot
would cure that? It was suggested to do a sudo service pulseaudio
restart in the IRC channel #ubuntu+1, so the error makes sense there.
If that broke something, how is it cured? And there was an issue before
that obviously
do all your user id who need audio belong to the audio group?

Hmm.. I can't reproduce the error now. I killed ~/.pulse because I'm
sure running it via sudo killed some stuff in there, and now I only get
small hiccups when listening to FLAC over wifi, or watching some hi def
movies over wifi, and sometimes it chokes so bad that the audio cuts
out, and never
