Public bug reported: when installing ubuntu process, it cannot find usb adapter rtl8188cus, and cannot find dhcp, and cannot establish internet connection.
after installation ubuntu, it works and try to find network, but cannot connected with it. result: I blacklist it and install driver for this card manually from realtec site, and it works now. I expect, that you exchange existing driver in kernel to driver from realtec site, so, that connection will be established on installation stage . detailed decision is here http://ubuntuforums.org/showpost.php?p=12255850&postcount=45 and in post 41 this thread. m@ubuntu:~$ apt-cache policy pkgname N: Unable to locate package pkgname lm@ubuntu:~$ sudo apt-cache policy pkgname [sudo] password for lm: N: Unable to locate package pkgname lm@ubuntu:~$ lm@ubuntu:~$ lsb_release -rd Description: Ubuntu 12.04.1 LTS Release: 12.04 lm@ubuntu:~$ ** Affects: ubuntu-docs (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1057411 Title: driver usb wifi card RTL8188CUS (realtec) is unappropriate.
