Didrocks, were you able to reproduce it again? I had the same issue with
Unity 6.4 (or it was probably 6.6 or an interim trunk checkout) but now
it doesn't happen any more with 6.8.

Do you get the full tooltip then?
And is it worse if something is redrawing behind the tooltip lots (like
glxgears)?

@vanvugt: it does vanish when moving the mouse outside of the launcher,
it's just that it's not fully displayed when it's on the launcher.
Please don't target bugs for R yet, let's try to get it fixed for Q.
