Thanks James, I can confirm this is now working.
It's a bit chatty during the boot, I get lots of messages from IP-Config
moaning about no response after a few seconds
for the networking config, and after a few seconds it recovers and gets on with
it. (This is still a kvm guest).

A fix was released into quantal and is now on the ISO images.
