I think this should be packaged ASAP, and then backported at least for
12.10 if new version don't make it. Then backported to 12.04, since the
experience was already somehow broken, but now is COMPLETELY broken on
the LTS.

@Dmitry, In theory, yes it's possible. But there is another showstopper
problem in version 1.7 with the newer versions of phonon-gstreamer (from
12.04 onward). Playback randomly stops and skips to the next video. So
that would need another patch. IMO we end up with something much less
tested than
