I can confirm that it doesn't work in 13.10 with Firefox.
In 13.10 with Firefox two launcher icons appears --- first opens yet another
tab in Firefox with Grooveshark, and second opens already opened tab.
Sound indicator entry doesn't appear.

Grooveshark is really a good feature that should be enabled from the starting
point of the ubuntu experience.
