Public bug reported:

Hi!

ok, i have ubuntu feisty beta installed for about 2 weeks now. all was
working fine, i updated everyday and system was very stable.

yesterday, i updated my system and rebooted. since then, my system wont boot
anymore. while booting, it simply freezes, and after about 5 minutes, i get
this:

---------------------

check root = bootarg cat /proc/cmdline or missing modules, devices: cat
/proc/modules ls /dev

ALERT! /dev/disk/by-uuid/[lots of numbers] does not exist. dropping to a
shell.

BusyBox V1.1.3 (Debian 1:1.1.3-3ubuntu3) built-in shell (ash)

/bin/sh: can't access tty; job control turned off
(initramfs):

--------------------

when i got it the first time, i tried booting with my older kernel
2.6.20-13-generic and it worked fine. as soon as i boot with 2.6.20-14, this
happens.

after a few unsuccessful tries, i reinstalled ubuntu from scratch with
the beta CD. install went fine, i got to boot in ubuntu and again, did
an update. once the update was finished and i rebooted (my kernel went
from 2.6.20-12 to 2.6.20-14 with the update) the exact same problem
happened again.

anyone know what happened?

thanks!!
