You don't need a repository. Since you're using Ubuntu 12.04, you
already have what is called Rhythmbox 3 in the music plugin. I think
you're confused because the version number of Rhythmbox says
2.9something, which is apparently because it's not 3.0 enough yet.

Sorry, I meant that you currently have Rhythmbox 3 on your system. So to
make it work in emesene you need to select the Rhythmbox 3 extension,
not the Rhythmbox extension which is for Rhythmbox 2.

As you suggest, the crash of music plugin is not reported by apport.
However, the information what i am listening to is not reflected to status of
emesene.
To confirm please let me list my configuration of extens
Could yo try to update emesene and see if the problem is still there? We
