12.10 has been end of life for some time and is no longer supported.
Are you able to reproduce this on 14.04 or 14.10?

Hi Greg!
No, i don't think so, because i went into the same identical problem
when i used your values (1024x768 - which resulted anyway in the
correct screen, 1440x900, as well).
A personal question: I was very happy when i succeeded to install, via
alternative installer, 12.10 onto the

All issues you are encounter like suspend or backlight or sound or fan

I have read the apport-collect logs for ubiquity, but could not see any
obvious problem there. May be someone with more experience can recognize
more, but for now I would say, with respect to the trace in
WifiSyslog.txt
,that this is a kernel bug.
A quick internet search give the hint that

I push it in addition to linux and let ubiquity for know. May be xnox or

To manage
Oh, great. Thanks a lot, so at least i wouldn't have to do compiling
(i'd have been pretty much unable to). Anyway, stupid question: When i
tried the latest one, trying to install the linux-headers i got the
error msg:

sudo dpkg -i
Mhh,the procedure for 3.7 seems to have changed bit.
Anyway,
copy all 3 files you need (headers, image , and image extra) in one
separated folder (e.g kernel37 - create this)
open up a terminal and swith in the kernel37 folder with the cd command
cd kernel37
than run in this folder:
sudo
I miss the headers_blabla_all.deb files in the paa . - ???
May be it is now in this way. Try it.
