I experienced the same problem.
In my experience, it was due to a lack of installed packages along with
open office package.
With the advice of Mosi Lager in mind (i.e uninstalling and re-install
everything related to OOo), I typed OpenOffice in Adept search engine.

I found a fix with Kubuntu 7.04 / Openoffice 2.2 / Bibus.
Uninstalling all openoffice components and reinstalling openoffice.org
seems to fix this. No problems with Bibus afterwards. Encountered
problem with both the beta cd as well as the final cd.
I also had to install one other theme for openo
This would definitely seem to be a KDE-OO interaction problem.
Like others I have successfully used Bibus on Ubuntu 7.04, but when I
try to install it on my Mepis 6.5 laptop it crashes just as described
for Kubuntu.
Hope someone can find a fix . . .

Using the 2.2 OpenOffice.org .deb-packages on Kubuntu 6.10 (Edgy) works
with this file. Unfortunately I cannot run Bibus with it as the official
OOo has its build in Python interpreter which doesn't interact with all
the installed external packages.

Okay, I tried it now with both Live/Install-CDs (Feisty Beta Ubuntu and
Kubuntu).
Opening UnoConnectionListener.sxd did NOT cause problems with Ubuntu. Also I
could install and use bibus without any problems after adding it to the
sources.list.
Same approach with Kubuntu -> OpenOffice-Draw cras
There is a workaround I found:
type
sudo nano /usr/lib/openoffice/share/registry/data/org/openoffice/Setup.xcu
(Might be a good idea to keep a backup of that file :) )
Search for the entry

@Duncan Lithgow
Hmm, that is strange. I tried it on an Edgy install (different machine)
using the "official" OOo package and now on my Kubuntu Feisty with
identical results. Could this be KDE-related (as it seems to run on your
Ubuntu-system)?
Thank you anyways!
