Hey anville,
I think you are onto something. Using modprobe to remove tpm_infineon
worked for me as well... sort of. At least in the sense that I was
finally able to put my laptop to sleep (I too am on a 32bit intel mac...
a MacbookPro 1,1).
Problem is I can't wake it up once its asleep and have
I have the same issue. I'm running on a Mac min from 2008 (I think with
Core Duo 32-bit CPU).

On Ubuntu 15.10, suspend stopped working. I reported an error, jumped through
a lot of hoops try mainline kernels, etc, but I needed a working machine that

Is more information required? If so, is there a reference bug that can
show me the results I should get? What is needed to move this out of
"incomplete"?

Since suspend doesn't happen when tpm_infineon is loaded, there aren't
any magic numbers written to rtc. The dmesg.txt contains two pm-suspend
runs. The first run [at 235.257251] doesn't succeed [at 235.798806], and
the second run with tpm_infineon unloaded [at 789.209680] does succeed.

No. After checking the currently supported Ubuntu releases (8.04 server,
10.04, 11.04, 11.10, 12.04, and 12.10) this issue with tpm_infineon
always happens. Note with 8.04 server, the system doesn't suspend at all
even with the module removed.

John Rea, thank you for testing the mainline kernel. Did this issue not
occur in a release prior to Quantal? If so, which one(s)?
