Solved ! As Alexandre Moraes. I remove the xserver-xorg-video-nouveau package then the upgrade works, from Ubuntu 14.04 using i3wm. Full set of commands: $ apt-get remove --purge xserver-xorg-video-nouveau $ apt-get autoremove $ apt-get autoclean $ apt-get update $ do-release-upgrade Best

I checked in /var/log/dist-upgrades/apt.log and it was getting confused by gnuplot, gnuplot-x11 and gnuplot-nox. I don't remember why I ever installed gnuplot, so I uninstalled them and the upgrade can now be calculated -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu
