Public bug reported: Found in Ubuntu 12.10
Steps to replicate: - Open LibreOffice - Type a few ordinary words - Go to Insert -> Object -> Formula Begin typing a formula... As an example, I used the quadratic formula copied across several lines, which looks like "x = {-b +- sqrt{ b^2 - 4ac} }over 2a newline x = {-b +- sqrt{ b^2 - 4ac} }over 2a newline x = {-b +- sqrt{ b^2 - 4ac} }over 2a" About one in three times (or more, if my computer is being particularly grumpy) LibreOffice will randomly crash while editing the Equation object. Hardware is an Acer Aspire S3. I made sure I had the latest packages this morning, before testing for the bug. LibreOffice version is "Version 3.6.2.2 (Build ID: 360m1(Build:2))" ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 12.10 Package: libreoffice-core 1:3.6.2~rc2-0ubuntu3 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.5.0-17.28-generic 3.5.5 Uname: Linux 3.5.0-17-generic x86_64 ApportVersion: 2.6.1-0ubuntu3 Architecture: amd64 Date: Wed Oct 24 14:11:23 2012 ExecutablePath: /usr/lib/libreoffice/program/soffice.bin InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 12.04 LTS "Precise Pangolin" - Beta amd64 (20120328) ProcEnviron: PATH=(custom, no user) XDG_RUNTIME_DIR=<set> LANG=en_US.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash SourcePackage: libreoffice UpgradeStatus: Upgraded to quantal on 2012-10-21 (3 days ago) XsessionErrors: (gnome-settings-daemon:2185): color-plugin-WARNING **: Done switch to new account, reload devices ** Affects: libreoffice (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug quantal running-unity -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1070977 Title: LibreOffice often crashes when editing an Equation object To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libreoffice/+bug/1070977/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
