Public bug reported: I'm running a pentium m 740 processor. Ubuntu feisty does not scale frequency optimally. The available frequencies are 800Mhz t0 1.7Ghz in four steps. The cpu doesn't run at 600mhz and hence battery life suffers.. also the cpu fan only operates at one speed and runs most of the time.. This is also the case with Centos 5.
