I will try and get around to testing the LiveCD, although it may not be this weekend. However, I am currently running the Hardy 2.6.24-19-386 #1 Wed Aug 20 21:59:50 UTC 2008 i686 GNU/Linux and have not had the kernel panic issue since upgrading to Hardy, or some time before that. Dan On

Here is the additional information. Additionally, I noticed that the caps lock button blinks when this happens. The only option I have is to hard shutdown the machine at the panic. This message did not appear in dmesg or in any logs after the reboot. uname -a: Linux flute 2.6.20-15-generic #2 SMP
