Thanks for looking into this. Sorry for not updating this report, as I
have since upgraded to 13.04 and that seems to have "fixed things". I
don't know which firmware for the TV card is in the 13.04 but I can't
imagine it is a different one than I have tried in the past as there
aren't that many ou

page.aspx?pid=3743#bios an update is available for your BIOS (F3). If
you update to this, does it change anything?
If not, could you please both specify what happened, and provide the output of
the following terminal command:
sudo dmideco
Forgot to add that I have tried to power down the computer and remove
the power cable for a few seconds and reboot, with the same results.
Neither helped downloading a different firmware.
