Hi Bryce
I followed your instructions using t and then "apport-
collect 1076776" and although it seemed to be going through the motions
(completing various prompts, etc) nothing seemed to get uploaded at the
end. The last part (I believe) said about waiting a few seconds but it

Offhand this sounds like a "compiz crashed" bug, particularly if you're
finding the issue does not appear with lubuntu or other non-unity
ubuntu's. If this is true, then you should be able to launch a terminal
window via " t" when the system is showing just the
background.

Hi Maarten
I'm currently using the 3.7.0-7 kernel and tried your suggestion
(nouveau.config=PGRAPH=0) but I'm still seeing the corrupted screen (as
shown in #4). I also tried your other suggestion with the same results.
I entered these settings in the same place that I entered "nomodeset"

'nomodeset' is unsupported, and should not be needed. nouveau.noaccel=1
would be better pre 3.7, or nouveau.config=PGRAPH=0 after the nouveau
kernel rewrite..

Not a problem. Hope your settled into your new home now :).
Regarding files to download and install. Usually, I would download the

I just download the standard kernel-image (non pae) kernel? Do I need to
