Seems to be a hardware/cdrom issue. Have you used the md5sum to verify
the iso before burning. have you burned the iso a second time?

Finally, after running cdromupgrade about 5 times, I got it upgraded.
It actually didn't quit after the above error like it said it would, and there

Here's a summary:

After the last time, it didn't even recognise the CD anymore. It did
recognise a commercial audio CD. The CD had been previously verified. So
I restarted with an old DVD-ROM plugged in instead. 4th try, this time
with 810 packaged to get, failed too, again with a different error:

The upgrade-manager specifically said it was disabling 3rd-party repositories
for the upgrade.
All 3rd-party repositories are currently disabled. My sources-list now point to
Feisty repositories, despite the process having been aborted. It warned the
system might be in an unstable state.

Deleting any custom modified repositories and replacing them with

I replaced my /etc/apt/sources.list with the copy provided above. I have
no contents within /etc/apt/sources.list.d.
I still receive this error:

The problem seems to be that you have a bunch of duplicated entries in your
/etc/apt/sources.list (and possible /etc/apt/sources.list.d) files.
Did you edited those manually or used tools (like the Software Properties

problems with the upgrade if only a cd is available, but with network
support it should generally work. So I'm curious about the lo
