I've just installed the latest gutsy on my laptop and bluez-gnome has
been automatically installed (and is a dependency of ubuntu-desktop).
So it seems this bug is fixed...

This is not fixed in gutsy apparently and could be easily fixed by adding a
single dependency.
This should not be marked wishlist as it renders the bluetooth support useless
to "normal" people.
Look at this article on the Dell Ubuntu laptops, bluetooth is cripled because

This shouldn't be 'wishlist' - it's more important than that.
Without bluez-gnome, it's not possible to pair with bluetooth devices.
The 'bluetooth properties' dialog has a control to 'always display icon'
in the notification area, but without bluez-gnome installed, the icon
never appears.
