Public bug reported:
The unity launcher auto-hide function does not operate in a session
accessed via VNC. The auto-hide function appears to operate only when
the mouse can be made to push further left than the left side of the
screen. Simply placing the mouse near the left edge of the screen is not
sufficient to un-hide the launcher, and VNC (vinagre/vino) does not
provide for dragging the mouse beyond the left edge of the screen.
