Since the bug happens when the computer is rebooted and dissapears on
the running system when hot-pluging-in the keyboard, I guess that it
could be a kind of initialization problem during the bootup process.

I have the same problem with my HAMA media keyboard, but in Ubuntu
Feisty. so far it has happened after every boot. Just letting you know
its not just in Kubuntu.

I don't think so, it worked in Edgy and in windows it works fine, so far
i think it has to do with a bug in the initialization of the keyboard
drivers during boot. According to my bios, power is as it should be.
