This happens in my mother's machine as well, using D-link DWL-G122 rev
C1 usb wireless adapter on Pentium 4. I see the (unencrypted) networks
but cannot connect. Great annoyance, since it does not play nice with
ndiswrapper as well. I do not want to break ubuntu (and make it more
complicated for my
Yah.. the linksys device I have doesn't work with the RT73 drivers in
any form on linux. I've tried it under fedora and something is
different. If someone wants to work on fixing the rt73 driver, I would
be willing to donate a few of these units to that effort.

1. Run "gksudo gedit /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist" and add this to the end
of it, then save and close:
