Please see this command/output. I'm guessing this may be related, no? I am running this on a IBM ThinkPad R50p which has a Intel Pentium M 1.6 processor in it, which I KNOW does not work with 12.10 because of the non-pae bug. Again, I don't care if this bug gets fixed or not, just adding
